v. Understanding health and livelihood challenges facing labour migrants and displaced populations in Southern AfricaSLC has, over the last two years, built on previous academic research on the dynamics of conflict-induced displacement in Southern Africa through undertaking several assignments relating to migrant health, livelihoods and human rights for organisations such as the International Organisation for Migration (IOM), the Forced Migration Studies Programme (FMSP) and the International Labour Organisation (ILO). This work has resulted in the development of a number of outputs, including peer-reviewed journal articles and a short undergraduate lecture series on research ethics and vulnerable populations. This ongoing work will continue to generate peer-reviewed publications as well as opportunities for training in the field of migrant health and livelihood enhancement.
